Scientific Method
Experiments
Teacher Instructions
To enable
students to better understand the steps of the scientific method,
have them come up with an idea for an experiment highlighting the
steps.
The five Steps of
the Scientific Method are:
1. State
the Problem or Ask a Question
2. Form a
Hypothesis
3. Perform an
Experiment
4. Collect and
Record Data
5. Present a
Conclusion
Students should
present the experiment in class so that all of the students can see
the Scientific Method in action. As each step is performed, the
student presenting the experiment should identify it. In the case
where the experiment is not able to be replicated in the classroom,
the student should present some form of visible evidence in the form
of a video, pictures, etc. so that the class may witness the data
firsthand.
