Pennsylvania’s Right-to-Know law permits requesters the right to inspect and duplicate certain records of government agencies. 

Board Policy 801 addresses the guidelines established by Littlestown Area School District with regards to Act 3 of 2008.  A requester may use the Request Form located at the state’s Office of Open Records web site or the form linked below.

Requests for records must be addressed to the Agency Open Records Officer and can be submitted by email, fax, mail, or in person.  The request should be specific and not seek answers to questions. After filing a request, a response will be issued within 5 business days.

Filing an Appeal

When a request is denied or deemed denial, a requester may file an appeal to the Pennsylvania Office of Open Records.  The appeal must be filed within 15 business days of the denial or deemed denial date.  The appeal must also include the request, agency denial if one exists, and address agency grounds that the request was denied.  An appeals officer will determine if the record(s) is subject to public access.

Granted: The District provided the records to the requester.

Denied: The District was unable to provide records due to the nature of the request or no such records exist.

Appeal: The requester filed an appeal with the state to further pursue gathering records. If a RTK is marked "Yes" under appeal, please visit the Office of Open Records to view the additional information.
