Welcome to LASD Student Services

Student Services is the department that provides access to special programs and resources for our students. Below is a list of some of the services we offer. The links along the left will help you with additional information and resources.

ELL - Students who are ELL (English Language Learners) are provided with additional instruction if their academic progress is affected by having a dominant language other than English.

Foster Care Youth - The Littlestown Area School District works closely with Children & Youth to tailor processes and procedures to the unique local context (i.e. enrollment protocols, transportation agreements, best interest determinations, and records transfers).

Guidance Services - District counselors help individuals and groups by providing services for social, academic and career issues.

McKinney-Vento Act (Homelessness) - Our goal is to ensure that all children and youth experiencing homelessness enroll, participate, and have the opportunity to succeed in school by eliminating and/or reducing educational barriers through the use of local "best practices" and the authorized activities of the McKinney-Vento Homeless Education Assistance Act.

Psychological Services - The district psychologist identifies student strengths and weaknesses to develop strategies to facilitate academic success.

S.A.P - .The Student Assistance Program (S.A.P.) identifies at-risk students and provides intervention techniques and referral services for students in grades 6-12. The school district works in partnership with community agencies to access services if needed.

Health Services - The school nurse provides first aid and administers medication when directed in writing by the parent. In addition, at specific grade levels, dental exams and physical exams are provided. A fluoride program is offered for grades K-8.

Level Up Program- LASD realizes the importance of our students' mental wellness. We recognized the impact that a student's mental health has on learning and achievement, and we realize that there is a great deal that can be done to help students with road blocks they may face.

Littlestown "Level Up" is our comprehensive wellness ACTION program supports the emotional health and academic growth. We are excited to collaborate with Cognitive Health Solutions to provide integrated school-based mental health services in "real time" without insurance limitations, and located within the district.

The "Level Up" team is highly qualified in providing services that have been proven evidence of long lasting change. Services such as individual and group therapy, functional behavioral assessments, and clinical evaluations. With a team consisting of mental health therapists, behavioral specialists, and psychologists, we are ready to provide access and support our students.
