Greetings Thunderbolts,
The Littlestown Area School District is constantly working to improve and simplify communication between families and the Littlestown Area School District. The partnerships we build between families and teachers directly impacts students' well being. School communication plays a critical part in all of this, and with the addition of Rooms, our goal is to make this communication simple and clear for all. New in 24-25, LASD is adding a new feature called Rooms to our LASD district app. Rooms enables two-way parent-teacher conversations and keep up with classroom announcements.
Our district app currently offers:
Live feed updates
District and school news
Upcoming events
With Rooms, you’ll have access to even more exciting features like:
Two way messaging with teachers, staff, and coaches
Classroom announcements, reminders about coursework, and materials
Behavior tracking for celebrating good behavior and academic achievement
Automatic translation
So what does all of this mean for you? This means the LASD app can keep you in communication with your child’s teachers and coursework. You’ll be able to find a significant amount of school and district information in one place: within our Littlestown Area School District app. If you don’t already have it, the district app is free and you can search for it in the Google Play and App Store!
ACES parents and guardians will receive an invite to Rooms by email or text today if you missed the notification sent home with students on Friday, August 23. Once you receive the invite, you'll follow the link on your browser to create a login. If you are also a parent/guardian for a student at MAMS or LHS, this program is coming soon.
After you’ve created your login, you can access Rooms through the Littlestown Area School District app. Once you’re there, you’ll see a toggle at the bottom right-hand corner of the screen. Just touch Rooms to get started. If you have multiple children attending our district, you’ll see them both listed. While teachers have not been formally trained yet in Rooms at MAMS and LHS, by the end of September, our goal is to have this tool in full use for the entire Littlestown Area School District.
We hope this offers you a richer, simpler—and ultimately—easier communication experience. You can read more about Rooms on our district’s FAQ page here. Don’t hesitate to reach out to us if you have any questions.
Educationally,
Timothy Mitzel, Assistant Superintendent
Littlestown Area School District
