Guidelines

The School Board recognizes its fiduciary duty to oversee the governance of the Littlestown Area School District and the need to hold committee and board meetings to conduct its business in an orderly and efficient manner. It is recognized that coverage of public meetings can be recorded in accordance with Pennsylvania’s “Sunshine Law”.

Use of Recording Devices: The use of recording devices at open meetings of the Board and Board committees is permitted, so long as the use of devices does not disrupt the meeting or interfere with participation in or observation of the meeting by other attendees.

It is the responsibility of the individual controlling the recording device to always maintain proper decorum, as it is expected of any person attending a Board meeting, as well as refrain from interrupting the meeting to address any technical difficulties with recording device(s).

Use of Recording: Any alteration of the recording of a board or committee meeting to misrepresent the actual vote or other discussion or actions in the meeting is prohibited. The individual controlling any unofficial publication of recorded information accepts all potential legal liability as an individual.
