ACES students were given an incredible opportunity to work with Mrs. Carla Long, this year's Artist in Residence.

Third grade students brought an object from home that they would take if immigrating to a new country. They photographed the object and used six adjectives to describe it. In art class, they worked in small groups with Mrs. Long, developing their skills as photographers, poets, and artists.

In the ELA classroom, students explored adjectives, poetry, and immigration, culminating in writing a poem from the object's point of view with personification.

The project concluded with students sharing their photographs and reading their poems to the class, showcasing a great collaboration across subject areas.

Great job to all involved!
