🥰 👏 💌 Littlestown High School is grateful for the Ruth W. Elder Memorial Social Studies Endowment at the Adams County Community Foundation, which will help towards the AP exam fees for 56 students in Human Geography, Government, U.S. History, and Psychology.
⏲️🥧🥚 LHS Unique Culinary students made individual pies. Each student created homemade pie pastry for their double crusted fruit pies. Pie flavors included Apple, Blueberry, and Cherry. Students added their own decorative touches to personalize their pies.
⏲️🍝🥣 Gourmet Foods students created a variety of pasta dishes this week. Their focus was stuffed pasta (Entree dishes) and pasta salads (side dishes).
Some of the favorite stuffed pasta recipes included 'Creamy Chicken Alfredo Tortellini', 'St. Louis Toasted Ravioli', 'Cheesy Beefy Stuffed Shells', and 'Chicken Broccoli Manicotti'. Some of the favorite side dishes were 'Amish Macaroni Salad', Shrimp Salad, and 'Mexican Street Corn Pasta'.

🎨 🖌️ 🖼️ Today's featured LHS AP 3D Year 1 Art installation is by Chloe K. The artwork was made using wireframe, paper, cardboard, & clothing. Chloe wanted to show what an Epic face would like if it were a person. "He's geeked, bruh" can be found in the library.
🐮🐄🐄 The LHS FFA has enjoyed time with heifer calves Maisy and Paisley. Students learned to mix milk replacer, halter calves, use a fork, shovel & wheelbarrow, and tag calves. We will be sorry to see the calves go but what a great experience. Thank you sponsors!

🎨 🖌️ 🖼️ Today's art installation is by LHS student Penny H. When asked about her project, Penny said "I created this bird as a way to repurpose my yarn scraps from my various fiber arts projects. I wanted to not only use them up but turn them into something intricate and creative. I used the elements and principles of art texture, color, movement, and form. This piece went through many phases. From being an abstract shape that resembled a bird. To then, adding the face, and then making and glueing all the feathers on. It was not easy, but I believe it was worth it for the final result."
⏲️ 🍎 🥣 Unique Culinary students learned that yummy breakfast pastries are harder to make than they look. Students created homemade apple pie and cheese filling. Then tried their best to create pinwheels, bird's nest, and braids with the pastry dough. Our recipes this week were Cheese Danishes, Apple Pie Crumble Danishes, and Easy German Strudels.
⏲️ 🥘 👩🍳 LHS Gourmet Food students created homemade meat sauce and cheese filling for this weeks 'Lasagna Roll Ups'. Yum!

🎨 🖼️💧Today's LHS AP 3D Year 1 art installation is by Nicole R. This landscape painting features flowers, a river, and a bright blue sky in a gold frame. The river comes out of the painting and turns into a waterfall that falls into a lake with paper mache hills around it. This painting uses color in the sky and flowers, texture in the paper mache hills, shows movement from the flowing water, and balance in the way everything is placed. The idea was to make it look like the painting is coming to life and leaving the frame. Nicole's goal was to make something creative that people would notice and enjoy looking at. You can find this waterfall in the common area outside the LHS library.

👩🏻💼👨💼📈The LHS FBLA and Business Department sponsored a trip to EVAPCO in Taneytown, MD. Students were greeted with a presentation on the company's vision and its products. The presentation also included why EVAPCO is a world leader in the HVAC, refrigeration, and energy industry along with career opportunities for students. The presentation included a Q & A session where students asked insightful questions. The group received a tour of the plant's sheet metal and assembly buildings. Before returning home, the group made a lunch stop for pizza at Tony's Cafe.
🎉 👏 🎉 LHS celebrates Jocelyn Bauerlein who was recently awarded the Daughters of the American Revolution (Gettysburg Chapter) Good Citizen award. Jocelyn was selected for demonstrating the qualities of dependability, service, leadership, and patriotism. Congratulations Jocelyn!
🔬🪐✈️ The LHS AP Physics 2 class visited the Smithsonian Air and Space Udvar-Hazy Center for a field trip on March 17. Students had a great day exploring aviation and space history, military applications, and engineering. The highlight of the day was museum volunteer Mr. Richard who showed us awesome demonstrations and gave us a mini-guided tour! Thank you for Mr. Powell for organizing the trip and Mr. Prietz for chaperoning.
