🥣 🍓 🍪 Last week LHS students who participate in the Adams County Technical Institute (ACTI) program went to HACC Harrisburg to explore the Culinary Program. While there, students prepared soup, fruit salad, and made cookies which they enjoyed for lunch.
🍿 💙 💛 Popcorn Pop Up Challenge - Gourmet classes competed to see which team could make the best popcorn flavor. The focus was herbs & spices as they experimented mixing things up with popcorn flavoring blends.

The LHS Peer Tutoring initiative is happy to announce that PEER TUTORING will begin March 3rd. Peer tutoring will be offered Monday, Wednesday, & Thursday each week from 2:25pm to 3:00pm in the library. Students can sign up by using the link in their email or scanning the QR code on the lobby media boards.
👨🍳⏲️🥄 Unique Culinary is baking up 'Muffin Madness' in their Bread Unit. 'To Die for Blueberry Muffins', 'Better than your Grandma's Chocolate Chip Muffins', 'Banana Chocolate Chip Muffins', & 'Sweet Corn Muffins'.
A great big SHOUTOUT to this group of LHS students/staff who helped set up our most recent Care Closet giveaway tables. The tables are located in the LHS lobby and anything on the tables are FREE for students or staff to take. Our FREE "tables" will be set up on 2/27 & 3/06! Students are ALWAYS welcome to stop by the Care Closet located in the Counseling Office between 7am and 3pm. We have food, clothing, hygiene supplies, and more.
Today the officers served meals to the staff for National FFA week. Throughout the year, our FFA members have to miss class from time-to-time to complete FFA assignments. This is a small way for our students to say thank- you for being understanding and gives our students an opportunity to give back to those who help students learn needed skills like math and reading. We also thank our Maintenance staff, and our Tech staff for everything they do for us. The food was prepared by Mission BBQ.
➡️ 🎤 🏆 The LHS Spanish Department is holding a "March Madness" style competition called Locura de Marzo featuring popular Spanish-language songs competing in head-to-head matchups. Every day, students will listen to two songs and vote for their favorite. The most voted for song will advance to the next round. Thank you Profesoras Bernal, Álvarez y Jackson for helping LHS build connection and school community through a shared experience.
🐮 🌽 🚜 The LHS FFA is hosting it's first ever Ag Olympics 0n 3/06/2026. It's sure to be a farm-tastic good time for students & staff. Who will be the the Ag Olympics champion? Thank you Bronco Billy's Beef Jerky for sponsoring this event.
🫑 🥦 ⏲️ The LHS Gourmet Foods class cooked up some casseroles last week. Among the favorites: Pepperoni Pizza, French Toast, Sausage McGriddle, Smores & Chicken Alfredo Pizza casseroles.
🍚 ⏲️ 👨🍳 On Friday the LHS Unique Culinary class cooked up some Extra Cheesy Baked Mac n Cheese. Looks like another successful lesson on "Grains".
🍚 ⏲️ 🧑🍳 What's cooking in the LHS Unique Culinary classroom? Fried Rice... as part of the "Grains" lesson from last week!
🥘 ⏲️ 🇪🇸The LHS Spanish Honors Society cooked together after school on Friday. Students made Arroz con leche, Tostones (fried plantains), a drink called Morir Soñando & a Tres Leches cake. The Spanish exchange students helped a group make two Spanish tortillas! Muy divertido!

💙 💛 🚌 Today LHS students had the opportunity to attend HACC Harrisburg's Engineering Career Day. Students participated in two hands-on learning sessions and also heard about all kinds of careers in Civil, Electrical, Mechanical & Chemical Engineering. Thank you to Mrs. Lyon for chaperoning the trip!
